Grilled Marshmallow Skewers
My cousin in Tianhe District made these every Mid-Autumn night — she’d thread mini marshmallows onto chopsticks, hold them just above glowing charcoal, and pass them around while telling moon rabbit stories.

toasted white sesame seeds: Toast in dry pan 2 minutes until golden and fragrant.
rice cereal squares (optional, for crunch): Substitute with puffed rice or crushed cornflakes if unavailable.

Instructions
1Drain soaked bamboo skewers. Thread 3–4 mini marshmallows onto each, leaving 1 cm space between.
2Preheat grill to low heat (120°C / 250°F). Place skewers on upper rack, away from direct flame.
3Grill 2–3 minutes per side, rotating gently every 45 seconds, until marshmallows puff and turn pale gold.
4Remove skewers. While still hot, roll tops in toasted sesame seeds and rice cereal crumbs.
5Serve immediately — best eaten within 2 minutes while soft and stretchy.
Marshmallows are swollen, glossy, and yield softly to gentle pressure.
You know it's right when: 表面光滑,无气泡破裂或塌陷。Surface is smooth, not blistered or deflated.
Tips
- · Never leave unattended — marshmallows ignite easily.
- · Use oven mitts: skewers get hot even at low heat.
- · For adults, add a light sprinkle of five-spice powder before rolling in sesame.
